Privacy Policy
How we handle information about visitors to simciasecurity.com.
Skip the legalese.
- This is a marketing website. There’s no account, no login, no checkout.
- If you don’t email us or click an analytics-tracked element, we don’t collect anything that identifies you.
- We use Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, and the LinkedIn Insight Tag to understand which content works. Each one drops cookies and reports usage to its provider under that provider’s terms.
- If you email us at hello@simciasecurity.com, we use that email to reply. We don’t share it.
- This policy is subject to change at any time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change.
1. What we collect
When you visit simciasecurity.com, your browser shares standard request information with our hosting provider (IP address, user agent, referrer, viewport, locale). Our analytics scripts (below) collect additional usage signals through cookies and similar technologies.
1.1 Analytics tracking
- Google Analytics 4 — page views, session paths, device class, approximate location (country/region). We have IP anonymization enabled.
- Meta Pixel — page views and standard events for ad attribution and audience modeling.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag — page views, member-graph attributes (when LinkedIn knows the visitor), conversion attribution.
These tools set first-party and third-party cookies on your browser when they load. They do not load if their respective scripts are not deployed (we control this through our build configuration). Per-provider opt-out paths are listed in §5 “Your choices” below.
1.2 What we don’t collect
- We do not run a contact form. The site’s contact path is a
mailto:link to hello@simciasecurity.com. - We do not place first-party cookies of our own.
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and improve the website (which pages get traffic, where visitors come from, what content is read).
- Reply to inquiries you send us by email.
- Measure the performance of our marketing across the platforms above.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share information
We share information with the following categories of recipients:
- Analytics and advertising platforms — Google, Meta, and LinkedIn each receive the data their respective tracking technologies are designed to collect. Their use of that data is governed by their privacy policies.
- Hosting — the website is hosted by 1&1 / IONOS, which receives standard server request data needed to deliver pages to your browser.
- Legal compliance — we may disclose information when required by valid legal process.
We do not sell, rent, or trade information to third parties for their own marketing.
4. How long we keep things
We do not maintain any first-party customer database for this website. The categories of information that pass through the Site have different retention paths:
- Analytics data — held by our analytics providers (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) under their own retention policies. By default, Google Analytics 4 retains event-level user data for 14 months and aggregates indefinitely; Meta and LinkedIn fall in similar ranges. We do not retain a separate copy.
- Email correspondence — kept in our mailbox until you ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it for the purpose you wrote (typically not longer than 24 months for inactive threads).
- Standard server logs (IP, request, timestamp) — held by our hosting provider for short operational windows, typically days to weeks. We do not retain a separate copy.
If you’d like us to confirm what (if anything) is associated with your email or to delete it, write hello@simciasecurity.com.
5. Your choices
- Browser controls — most browsers let you block third-party cookies, send Do Not Track signals, or use private/incognito mode.
- Opt out of analytics — you can install Google’s Analytics opt-out, manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook account, and adjust LinkedIn ad settings in your LinkedIn account.
- Ad blockers — most network-level ad blockers also block our analytics tags.
- Email us — to ask what we have on file (if anything tied to your email), or to ask us to delete it, write hello@simciasecurity.com.
